* Blockades have been set up by the Penan of Sarawak (Borneo, East Malaysia) since the late 1980s as a means of protesting against the logging of their rainforests and as a tool for negotiating with logging companies and government officials.

For many years, the Malaysian Interhill logging company has been destroying the Penan's rainforest in Borneo and thus threatening the habitat and culture of these indigenous people. This website informs you on the progress of our campaign to support the Penan's struggle against Interhill. It was launched by the Bruno Manser Fund (BMF) in February 2009. For more information on the Penan, please visit our main website www.bmf.ch.
